My solo project aims to open up a world of new possibilities for the design of city bikes. The conventional bicycle design is well tried and tested but has some disadvantages, which folding bikes attempt to solve. However, folding bike designs are always constrained by the assumption that a bike that folds up small must have small wheels. The result is a compromise. Urban cyclists must choose between using a real bike or a tiny-wheeled folding bike.
A folding wheel enables a more stable, more efficient, more comfortable bicycle to be designed that has all the advantages of both folding and conventional bicycles. Convenience and performance, with no compromise.
