From pots and pans to injection moulding machines, tools mediate between ourselves and the material world. They allow us to give form to our desires and in turn delineate the possible forms those desires can take. At a grand scale, industrial tools and processes shape the vocabulary of products we consume. At a personal scale, our tools form the basis for private rituals and self-expression. Creating new tools creates new modes of expression and illuminates the world in new ways. My work explores the potential of tools to generate new relationships between design, technology and everyday life.
